Parent Message: District continues health and safety precautions

03.08.2021 11:45 a.m.
The following message was sent to all DPISD parents and employees on Friday night.
After careful consideration, Deer Park ISD will continue to follow the successful safety precautions we have had in place since students returned to their classrooms. This includes the requirement for all students and employees to wear a face covering.
The District has received feedback from many parents via email, telephone calls, and social media. We have also discussed the issue with health officials, staff members, School Board members, and neighboring districts. We believe that our safety precautions have kept our schools safe, and we are confident that continuing the precautions will help our students and team members remain safe and healthy.
It is also important to note that:
• The number of cases in our schools has decreased, but new cases still occur.
• Most teachers and other employees have not been vaccinated.
• After spring break, there are only 50 school days left in the current year.
Masks and other health precautions might seem inconvenient to some, but we believe anything we can do to keep our students and employees safe is worth doing. We appreciate your continued support, and we look forward to a healthy and successful rest of the school year.
Thank you.
