To visit the library during the academic day:
  • Create a SmartPass from your class to the Library.
    • Your teacher must approve the pass. 
    • You are always welcome in the library, but the library staff will not approve a pass out of class; your teacher must grant that permission.
  • To work or read in the library during Deer Time, request Mrs. Rossi in Enriching Students.
    • PLEASE NOTE:  Deer Time is intended for students to be engaged in an academic activity, not for meeting to hang out with friends.
    • Please indicate in the note what you need to work on in the library.
    • Same-day requests may not be seen in time to be scheduled.
    • Limited seating is available on days clubs meet in the library.
Circulation Policies:
  • How many books may I check out at a time?
    Students may have two fiction or nonfiction books or three graphic books checked out at a time.
  • How long is the checkout period?
    Fiction and nonfiction books have a lending period of two weeks.
    Graphic books have a lending period of one week.

  • Can I renew a book if I'm not finished reading it by the due date?
    Yes, you may recheck a title -- provided it isn't on hold for another student.
  • What if my book is overdue?
    Books accrue a late fee of $0.10 per day with a $5 maximum.
Knowles Library Staff:
Mrs. Rossi
Librarian
Mrs. Rossi has been a librarian for more than 20 years.  She loves assisting both students and teachers with research assignments, book recommendations, and other literacy-related needs.  Some of Mrs. Rossi's favorite reads -- old and new -- are:
 
 
When Mrs. Rossi isn't reading, she loves to hike, travel, sing on her church's praise team, play board games, crochet, try new foods and spend time with family and friends.
 
Mrs. Howell
Circulation Desk Clerk
Mrs. Howell is always happy to assist with checking out books and assisting students and teachers with library programming and resources.  A few of Mrs. Howell's favorite books are:

Mrs. Howell loves to read and sleep, often having to give up one in favor of the other.  In her downtime, she travels all over the U.S. with her children and husband, trying to see as many new things and places as she can and collecting memories.

Mrs. Zambrano
Electronic Classroom Clerk
Mrs. Zambrano assists with library programming, fee and fine maintenance, and ID badge printing.  She works hard to help students with answers to any library-related questions.  A few of Mrs. Zambrano's favorite books are:
 
 
She also enjoys making crafts, doing DIY experiments like making lip balms and slime and watching documentaries and reality shows.  She loves to travel and visit historical landmarks.
 
Mrs. Zambrano loves to sing, and one of her favorite types of music is mariachi.  When she is able, she likes visiting art and history museums.
