Senior Events

Welcome to your senior year, Class of 2024! The following is a list of dates and events that are taking place between now and the end of the school year.

ALL Senior Information will be available throughout the year in the Senior Deer Time Course in Canvas.

Graduation Fair – August 29^th in the South Campus Mall
Graduation Announcements & Cap and Gown – Herff Jones will be on Campus the last Wednesday of each month from September - March. They will be located outside of the PAC during all lunches.

Herff Jones time & dates: 11:15am – 1:30pm

September 27th - October 25th – November 29th – January 31st – February 28th – March 27th

Students may also order online from the Herff Jones’ website at mygradaccount.com. Orders will take 1-2 months to come in and will be delivered to the school. The cap, maroon & gold cuffed gown and tassel are required to participate in the graduation ceremony. Please contact Herff Jones at 281-367-4723 with any questions about orders.

Graduation Announcements/Cap & Gown Pick Up – August/September Cap & Gown orders should arrive in November and can be picked up from Herff Jones on the November 29^th date. After that, cap & gowns will be available to pick up on the last Wednesday of each month while Herff Jones is here on Campus. Balance will be due at the time of delivery.

Senior Yearbook Pictures – Higgins Photography will set senior picture sessions each month at their studio during the beginning of the year for Senior Yearbook pictures. There is no sitting fee for these pictures, but you may choose to purchase these pictures once they have posted to the Higgins website.

Please go to www.higginsphotography.com to set up an appointment as soon as possible.

Due to end of year deadlines, the sessions will end in February. If you try to schedule on your own after that, a sitting fee may be charged.

Homecoming – October 13, 2023, Homecoming Court nominations and voting start in the beginning of September.
Majestic Court – Thursday, February 8, 2024. This is a senior fundraiser.
Prom Ticket Sales – Monday, April 15^th - Thursday, April 18^thduring all lunches and on the morning of April 17^th.

The estimated cost is $75.00 per person. All fees must be paid in order to purchase a prom ticket. Tickets will not be sold at the door. Only seniors may purchase prom tickets and a school ID is required for the senior & date.

Non-Deer Park dates will need to be approved. The approval forms will be available in early March.

Senior Prom Assembly – Mandatory at 9:00 on April 17^th
End of Year/Graduation Assembly – Mandatory at 9:00am on April 23^rd
Senior Prom Saturday, April 20,2024 – 7:00 p.m. to 11:00p.m. at The Galveston Convention Center, 5600 Seawall Blvd, Galveston, Tx. Prom information sheets will be available the 1^st week of April.
Class of 2024 Panoramic Picture – Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 9:00 a.m., depending on weather. Pictures will be available to purchase during lunch the next day. If you do not get a chance to purchase the panoramic picture at school, you can place your order online at goldbeckcompany.com; however, a shipping fee will be applied.
Awards/Scholarship presentation – Mid-May/Date TBD - Invites for select students will be distributed throughout the month of May.
Fees & Fines - Please note that per the Student Handbook, page 60, students are to satisfy ALL FINANCIAL COMMITMENTS to the school to be able to participate in the graduation ceremony. All fees and fines must be cleared by Friday, May 3^rd, 2024.
Graduation Practice – Friday, May 17, 2024 at 7:30 a.m. in the South Campus auxiliary gym. You must be in dress code. You do not have to bring cap & gown to practice. This practice is mandatory, if you plan to participate in the graduation ceremony.
Graduation Ceremony – May 23, 2024 at 7:30pm at Abshier Stadium. Senior procession starts at 7:00pm.

You must be in dress code. Graduates must report to the auxiliary gym at 6:15 p.m.

Counselor – Please check with your counselor to make sure all graduation requirements needed to participate in the graduation ceremony have been met.
Final Transcript – On Monday, April 29^th, you will fill out a form in Canvas and list the college(s) that you want your final transcript sent to.
Diploma Pick-up – Diploma pick up will be Monday, June 17^th in the Registrars’ office.
