  • Complete your Career and College Research using Kuder Navigator on Class Link or Big Future on the College Board website. (Narrow career search to 1-2 options; narrow college search according to your intended degree choice; gather important college information: admission requirements, deadlines, test-optional, cost of attendance, housing options, study abroad opportunities, honor programs, scholarship options, additional degree program requirements.)
  • Utilize your two 11th grade college visit days to visit a campus during the week or during their Open House or Showcase days.  (See College Visit tab in College Corner.)
  • If you plan on attending a 4-year university, sign up to take SAT or ACT or both in the Spring to prepare for college admission requirements.  (See Test Information tab in College Corner.)
  • Update your resume now and again in the summer.  (Your resume will be used for college and scholarship applications.  Complete it NO LATER than the beginning of your senior year.  Once complete, forward to your counselor for review.)
  • If you plan on attending a 4-year university, begin working on writing your college essay before senior year begins.  (Have your essay reviewed by at least 3 set of eyes.  College applications open in July.  The most common essay prompts are: "Tell me about a time you faced a challenge and what you did to overcome the situation."
"Why are you interested in pursing a degree in _____ and why did you think you are a good fit for our college.")
  • Select classes for senior year.
